Irish National Astronomy Meeting 2022

We are excited to host the 2022 edition of the Irish National Astronomy Meeting here at DIAS Dunsink Observatory. The in-person meeting will take place over 2 days on Thursday September 1 and Friday September 2 2022. We look forward to once again showcasing the wide range of projects being carried out by Irish researchers in partnership with international collaborators.

Timetable and programme of events

We are proud to present the INAM 2022 timetable.  We have two packed days of talks and a wide variety of posters highlighting the diversity of Irish astronomical research.  We encourage you to read the abstracts at this link to find the topics that stand out for you! A short 1 page timetable is also available below, or one that includes talk titles here.

Posters will be displayed in the halls of the observatory, and attendees are encouraged to view them during the lunch and coffee breaks. Poster presenters are asked to make themselves available for questions at these times.

Venue

The meeting will be held at the historic Dunsink Observatory, which has been a centre for astronomical research and public engagement in Ireland since its foundation in 1785. It is operated as part of the Astronomy & Astrophysics Section of the Dublin Institute for Advanced Studies (DIAS). Presentations will take place in the Meridian Room of Observatory House.

The Observatory is conveniently located beside Junction 6 on the M50 motorway, near Phoenix Park just outside Dublin City Centre. More details on its location and travel options are available here.

Local transport: A shuttle bus will be provided from/to Navan Road Parkway in the mornings and evenings.
